IPFs / filecoin is a decentralized storage protocol, which can store large amounts of data in various situations and ensure that the data can not be tampered with. Therefore, people generally store NFT metadata on the decentralized storage network (IPFs).

IPFs is regarded as the future of storage in the next era. IPFs utilizes a tool called content addressability. This means that users do not need to request content from the data center, but can request the content itself. With the help of content addressability, it is no longer necessary to rely on a single location to retrieve content; At the same time, IPFs is also responsible for the verifiability of data. Because all content is defined and stored according to the content itself, if a content is tampered with or changed, there will be a mismatch when trying to verify the content and knowing its error.

With the emergence of the wealth effect of NFT, many artists or digital encryption enthusiasts are eager to try. They can’t help asking how to create their own NFT with built-in asset support on IPFs? In fact, common NFT trading platforms can be created, such as opensea, scalable, superrare, etc; Its essence is to token digital assets.

Digital assets can be divided into two categories: original digital assets and physical assets after digitization. NTF is a differential digital asset based on the blockchain. The NTF compatible blockchain is like a database that can record any commodity. Fix the draft on IPFs

First, assume that you, as the creator, have created a pinata account and your own NFT smart contract that you can access in the opensea store.

Step 1: log in to Pinata — and navigate to “Pinata upload.”.

On the upload file screen, click “Browse” to find and select the file you want. In this case, the file is the artwork PNG. Next, choose a custom name for the pin.

Note: Custom naming is optional if you want to name the pushpin differently from the original file name. The custom name is only used to track the content on Pinata, and the actual name on IPFs will always be the original file name.

Step 2: click the keep file name (wrapped in directory) button to keep the same file name on IPFs. Finally, click upload and wait for the system to confirm. After successfully uploading the file, go to “pin Explorer”.

Step 3: you can find the file details on the “pin Explorer” page, including: hash (CID), file size and fixed status. In the following screen capture, you will notice the green indicator light to confirm that the file is “currently fixed” on IPFs.

Step 4: click “IPFs hash” to open a new window, in which the file is stored. If you have not selected “keep the file name (wrapped in directory)”, just copy the URL and go to the opensea store.

The art of casting NFT

Step 1: after logging in to storefronts manager, select a store and continue to create a new project.Step 2: click “create” and start uploading artwork. Next, fill in the art name and artist statement in the [name] and [description] fields.

Step 3: in the “external link” field, paste the previously copied URL. Add a URL in this field to link NFT to the corresponding fixed file on IPFs.

Finally, click “submit” and sign the transaction to create the NFT. So congratulations, you now know how to fix the illustration on IPFs and cast the corresponding NFT. By using this combination of Pinata and opensea, the personal smart contracts created by artists can ensure their persistence and stability.
